Gov. JB Pritzker Tuesday said new restrictions will be imposed on the entire state in the wake of the uncontrolled spread of COVID-19.

Beginning Friday, the entire state will be under Tier 3 resurgence mitigations which include a ban on video gaming, the closure of casinos, a 25% of capacity limit on retail establishments, including “big box” stores, and a suspension of indoor sports and recreational activities.

Personal care services can remain open, but with a limit of 25% of capacity or 25 clients, whichever is less, and employers should have employees work from home when possible.

Despite the increase in cases, the statewide positivity rate remained at 12.5%.
